Pass the Chips, Soda, and Renewable Energy

April 13, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Solar Integrated Technologies received final authorization to proceed with the installation of three 100 kW photovoltaic (PV) integrated roof systems for Frito Lay in La Mirada, City of Industry and San Diego Distribution Centers. With the completion of these installations Frito Lay will have 500 kW of SIT PV systems in service providing over one million kW hours of electricity annually from these systems. At a recent energy conference held in Plano, Texas which was attended by members of the entire Pepsi family which includes Frito Lay, Tropicana, Quaker Oats, Gatorade and Walker Chips, it was announced that the Frito Lay energy group will now provide energy consultation and services to the entire PepsiCo family of companies. This new corporate reorganization and alignment will now open the door for Solar Integrated Technologies to market and offer its integrated PV roofing solution to the entire PepsiCo community of companies.
