One-MW Solar PV System for Community College

December 26, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Pennington, New Jersey-based WorldWater Corporation has been selected the exclusive supplier of a one-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) system for Ridgecrest, California-based Cerro Coso College. The selection was made by Contra Costa Electric Company of Bakersfield, California, which won the contract from the Kern Community College District earlier this month. The full construction contract amount, payable to Contra Costa Electric Company, is US$8,963,053 for the program. Construction is scheduled to start immediately. The overall project currently is projected for completion in June 2004. WorldWater Corporation claims that the program is by far the largest such system for a community college.
