Odersun Breaks Ground on SunTwo

Odersun AG, developer and manufacturer of thin-film solar cells, modules and applications, has broken ground on its second solar factory, SunTwo, in Frankfurt, Germany. The factory is a 30-megawatt (MW) facility that will focus on the production of standard photovoltaic modules for solar parks and building integration.

Odersun will invest approximately €50 million [US $75 million] to build SunTwo. The factory will be divided into two facilities, one for cell production and one for module fabrication. Starting up the production line by line, the factories at SunTwo will begin operation in the fourth quarter of 2008.

“We continue our step by step growth strategy to manage risk and to build larger capacities as soon as possible,” said Ramin Lavae Mokhtari, CEO of Odersun AG.
