New Leadership at Schott Applied Power Corporation

The Board of Directors of Schott Applied Power Corporation (SAPC) announced the appointment of Thomas J. Starrs as President of SAPC.

ROCKLIN, California 2002-03-15 [] SAPC experienced a number of changes over the past year, most importantly the purchase by Schott Corporation and the opening of new headquarters in Rocklin, California. “Tom will provide excellent leadership and guidance as SAPC enters a new phase of growth and opportunity,” said Dr. Hans-Joachim Konz, SAPC’s Chairman of the Board and Executive Vice President of Schott’s Strategic Business Unit Home Tech. Starrs, a well-respected leader in the photovoltaics (PV) industry, has led and contributed to a number of successful initiatives including his championship of “net metering” and simplified interconnection requirements across the country and on the federal level. He has been actively involved with a number of renewable energy advocacy groups, including the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, the Solar Energy Industries Association, and the American Solar Energy Society. In addition, Mr. Starrs has been a member of the SAPC Board of Directors since 1998. He joins SAPC from Kelso Starrs and Associates LLC, an energy and environmental consulting firm that he co-founded in 1995. “SAPC is a great organization; I look forward to leading the company, enhancing our relationships with suppliers and customers, and building opportunities for the business as a whole,” said Starrs.
