New Director for California Solar Industry Association

[] The California Solar Energy Industries Association (CalSEIA) announced the election of Les Nelson to serve as its 2005 President, and his January 27 appointment by its Board of Directors as 2005 Executive Director. Nelson has been actively involved in the solar industry since 1972, and has previously served in both capacities. He assumes the Executive Director role following the departure of Jan McFarland, who served since 2003. California, under the leadership of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is crafting an ambitious and unprecedented initiative to install solar energy systems on 1 million buildings in California. This initiative, currently embodied in Senate Bill #1 (SB 1), has generated widespread enthusiasm in California’s environmental and energy groups.
