Mitsubishi PV Modules Ready for Solar Market

November 4, 2003 [] Tokyo, Japan-based Mitsubishi Electric Corporation plans a prompt market introduction for its lead-free solder photovoltaic (PV) modules, now that the modules have acquired international safety certifications. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation’s newly developed modules are in accordance with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard with lead-free solder, which is the first in the Japanese PV industry, and have met international safety certifications of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification in the US and Technischer Uberwachungs-Verein (TUV) certification in Germany. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation hopes to contribute to the popularization of solar power PV systems in the global market through its acquisition of these certifications.
