Million Roofs Solar Bill Faces Tough Crowd

After passing the Senate by a vote of 30-5, the Million Solar Roofs bill (Murray/Campbell), SB 1, heads this Monday afternoon into its first Assembly committee hearing in Utilities and Commerce, chaired by Lloyd Levine and vice-chaired by Russ Bogh. Last year’s version of the same bill died in this same committee, chaired by former Assemblywoman Sarah Reyes. This year, SB 1 supporters are hoping for collaboration with committee leadership to prevent damaging amendments and secure bi-partisan votes. SB 1 will not be voted on until Wednesday, July 6th.
