Masdar Signs 50-MW LOI with Parabel AG

Masdar PV GmbH has signed a letter of intent (LOI) for the delivery of silicon based thin-film modules with Parabel AG, a German system integrator that markets green-field and rooftop solar power plants as well as large solar thermal installations.

The agreement calls for Parabel to receive a supply of more than 50 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules from Masdar through 2011. Deliveries will begin following Masdar’s production ramp up in 2009.

“We have proven once again that our technologically leading thin film PV modules with their excellent cost-performance ratio definitely fulfill market needs. By gaining Parabel as our new customer we will be able to further increase our market share,” Joachim Nell, Masdar PV’s COO and CMO.

Earlier this week, RenewableEnergyWorld.com took a look at some of the other deals that Masdar has made in the last few months. These included research deals in Germany and other manufacturing deals. To read that story, click here.
