LA Community Colleges to Go Green

June 25, 2002 [] On Wednesday June 19, 2002, the Board of Trustees for the Los Angles Community College District, the largest network of community colleges in the U.S., unanimously voted in favor of strong Renewable Energy standards for the 40-50 new buildings that will be constructed on their campuses. All of the new buildings will use at least 15-25 percent Renewable Energy with a minimum of 10 percent of that energy generated on-site with solar photovoltaic panels.
