Kyocera To Power Kyushu Electric Solar Plant

Kyocera Corp is to supply 3 MW of solar modules for the Omuta mega solar power plant in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, currently planned by Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc.

With construction by Nishinippon Plant Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NPC), the facility is scheduled to go on-line in November 2010, when it will be one of the largest PV installations on the southern island of Kyushu.

Construction is set to start in April 2010, and when completed the installation will cover approximately 80,000 m², providing 3.2 GWh annually, Kyocera says.
