Kyocera Solar Sells Sunelco Division

Kyocera Solar, Inc. has sold Sunelco, its catalog and retail sales division in Hamilton, Montana, to Tom Bishop, a long-time Sunelco employee and division manager. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – June 14, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] Bishop has formed a new company, Sunelco, Inc., that is an authorized dealer of Kyocera solar products. “Kyocera’s sale of Sunelco reflects our focused business strategy and eliminates a possibility for Kyocera to be in competition with its dealer network,” said Doug Allday, President of Kyocera Solar. “We wish Tom Bishop and the Sunelco team all the best and we welcome them into our family of authorized dealers.” “I thank Kyocera for giving Sunelco the opportunity to continue our tradition of providing quality service, and I look forward to a prosperous and rewarding relationship as part of the Kyocera Solar dealer network,” said Bishop, now owner and president of Sunelco. “I also offer my thanks to all of the Kyocera people whom we have worked with over the past seven years.” Kyocera Solar will continue to focus on providing quality solar-related products and solutions in the areas of residential and commercial grid-tie, industrial systems, and water pumping to its dealer/OEM customer base.
