Kyocera Opens Solar Module Production in China

November 11, 2003 [] Kyocera recently celebrated the opening of their first overseas solar energy division in China. Approximately 150 guests attended the opening ceremony, including representatives from the Chinese Central Government, the Tianjin Government and Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. The module production process in the plant started operations in mid October and is starting mass production of 500 kW per month from this month. The production scale will reach approximately 1 MW by the end of this year and will increase to 12 MW per year by early 2004. Kyocera also plans to prepare a system for a production scale of 20 MW per year by the end of 2004.
