Kyocera Donates to California Fire Relief

November 5, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Kyocera group of companies, which include producers of advanced ceramics and suppliers of solar energy systems, has donated US$50,000 to the American Red Cross for fire relief and assistance efforts in San Diego County, California. In addition, the company is providing financial assistance to company employees, who have suffered the loss of, or significant structural damage to their homes. Noting that the recent wildfires that have ravaged the local communities show how fragile life can be, Rodney Lanthorne (director of Kyoto, Japan-based Kyocera Corporation and president of San Diego-based Kyocera International) extended his deepest sympathies to those directly affected by this disaster, and commended the heroic efforts of the firefighters, police, emergency workers and relief staff, including those of the Red Cross.
