Konarka Appoints CTO for Research and Technology

Lowell, Massachusetts [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Konarka Technologies, developer of Power Plastic that converts light to energy, appointed Dr. Christoph Brabec as chief technology officer (CTO) to guide the company’s scientific research efforts. Previously serving as Konarka’s director of polymer photovoltaics, Brabec led Konarka’s European research and development efforts. Before joining Konarka, he was project leader for organic semiconductor devices at Siemens Corporate Technology. He also worked with Dr. Alan Heeger, Konarka’s founding scientist, director and winner of the 2000 Nobel Chemistry Prize for pioneering research in the area of semi-conducting and metallic polymers. Dr. Brabec has authored more than 100 papers, filed more than 30 patents and presented at numerous technical symposia in both the U.S. and Europe.
