KIC to exhibit process optimization/control tools at EU PVSEC 2010

The  SunKIC, e-Clipse and Spectrum products have demonstrated up to 0.51% cell efficiency improvements through more accurate and repeatable profiling and process improvements.

(August 3, 2010) – KIC, through its partnership with the Balver Zinn group, expanded into the solar cell manufacturing industry with the SunKIC, e-Clipse and Spectrum products. These have demonstrated up to 0.51% cell efficiency improvements through more accurate and repeatable profiling and process improvements.

Balver Zinn will display the KIC products in booth L2/H4/A51a at the 25th EU PVSEC in Valencia, Spain from 6-9 September 2010. Balver Zinn also will distribute free copies of research papers and application notes demonstrating the use and capabilities of these new products.

Until recently, photovoltaics cell manufacturers had only a limited ability to identify better furnace settings and to periodically adjust the furnaces when the process changed, for example after preventive maintenance. KIC’s new technologies allow cell manufacturers to control their own thermal process results with significant productivity and profitability improvements.
