GRO Expands Solar Distribution, Sales Team

Global Resource Options, (GRO) announced tha Paul Coughlin, formerly of Alternative Solar Products and Astropower, has joined the firm as Manager of Distribution and Dealer Services. GRO was recently awarded a Distributorship from BP Solar, and has aggressively pursued extending their full-line solar photovoltaic (PV) distributorship on the U.S. east coast.

White River Junction, Vermont – January 21, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Coughlin has worked with both end customer sales and solar PV distribution sales on both coasts. For Astropower, he was the leading sales consultant in the Home Depot program. Prior to Astropower, Coughlin operated the west coast office of another BP Solar distributor. Coughlin will be based in the Westchester County area of New York, servicing wholesale accounts throughout the greater northeast, while also developing a new solar PV dealer network in the suburban New York City and New Jersey areas. “GRO already embodies what most dealers look for in a distributor, and has great programs in place to both create new dealers and service established businesses,” Coughlin said. “My primary focus is to reach out to the photovoltaic dealer community by offering GRO’s outstanding product line, which is headlined by BP Solar. In addition, the depth of technical knowledge, installation expertise, and sales experience will round off an unparalleled value proposition to our network of dealers.” Jeff Wolfe, Vice President, indicated that just as important as the product line and technical support will be the dealer sales training and support that GRO will offer. “Paul has been very successful in field sales of solar photovoltaic systems,” Wolfe said. “We’re going to make sure that his techniques and methods are passed along to our dealers, providing additional competitive and market advantage. Our success will be measured by the sales success of our dealers.”
