Grant Funds Showcase Solar PV Project at Museum

Westborough, Massachusetts [] A new solar array, energy efficiency and educational displays are planned as a major commitment to clean energy at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), recently announced by Massachusetts State Rep. Daniel E. Bosley, Director of MASS MoCA Joseph Thompson, and Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MTC) Executive Director Mitchell Adams. A $700,000 grant from the Renewable Energy Trust was unanimously approved by the MTC Board of Directors for a new 50-kilowatt (kW) solar installation, energy efficiency equipment and an interactive display to educate visitors about the benefits of clean energy. Designed to both spread the message that renewable energy works for jobs and health, and to cut its rising electricity costs, MASS MoCA is said to be “more than a museum, it is a theme park for thinking adults (and children).”
