Germany’s Solar Millenium to Build Solar Power Plant in China

Beijing, China [AFX News Ltd.] Germany’s Solar Millenium AG is teaming up with Inner Mongolia Ruyi Industry Co Ltd to build a solar plant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, the China Daily reported. The two firms are conducting a feasibility study for the multi-billion dollar project and will complete the preparatory work needed to begin construction by the end of the year, the paper said. The project will initially have capacity of 50 megawatts and will increase to 1,000 megawatts by 2020, according to Wang Genshu, chairman of the Inner Mongolia Ruyi Industry. Total investment in the project will amount to nearly 20 bln yuan, according to the China Daily. (1usd = 8 yuan)
