German Solar Project Topping 10 MW Commissioned

The Hague, The Netherlands [] A large photovoltaics (PV) solar park in the district of Passau/Bavaria, officially commissioned on April 27, 2006, offers a total output of more than 10 MWp. The plant was built jointly by Shell Solar GmbH, of Munich, CommerzLeasing und Immobilien AG, of Duesseldorf, and Martin Bucher Projektentwicklungen, of Stuttgart, on 32 hectares [79 acres] of a large former army reserve. The main contractor Shell Solar installed a total of 57,912 mono- and polycrystalline solar modules. Lined up end-to-end, the panels would stretch for more than 75 kilometers [46.6 miles].
