Flexible, thin-film PV frontsheet first in new Airtech solar product line

Airtech International released a frontsheet film designed for use in the manufacture of flexible, thin film solar PV cells. The SA-2200 marks the first in a line of SolAirtech materials for the photovoltaic cell manufacturing industry.

June 14, 2011 — Airtech International Inc. released a frontsheet film designed for use in the manufacture of flexible, thin film solar photovoltaic (PV) cells.

SolAirtech SA-2200 is a fluoropolymer-based solar film frontsheet that promises better yields and efficiencies of thin film solar cells. Product information is available from airtechsolar@airtechintl.com.

Airtech recently created its Solar Films Division. Jim Hegeduis, manager, says the SA-2200 marks the first product in a complete line of SolAirtech materials for the photovoltaic cell manufacturing industry.

Airtech history (40 years) of high-technology film manufacturing for the aerospace, wind energy, printed circuit board and general composite markets — along with experience in large-volume film production — will enable the company to produce low-cost high-performance films and related products, Hegeduis said.

Airtech is the largest privately owned manufacturer of vacuum bagging and tooling materials. Airtech International Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 registered company. Learn more at http://www.airtechonline.com.
