ersol Secures Additional Silicon from Wacker Chemie

Erfurt, Germany [] ersol Solar Energy AG signed a contract with the German company Wacker Chemie AG for delivery of polysilicon for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industry. This contract will apply from 2009 onward and will enable ersol to generate an additional production output of about 300 megawatt-hours peak (MWp) of crystalline solar cells over nine years to achieve additional production output of around 300 MWp. The silicon price has been fixed for the entire term of the contract in which ersol is scheduled to make downpayments to Wacker Chemie. The raw material supply puts ersol’s target of 400 MWp nominal capacity in 2010 within reach.
