EPV SOLAR to Build New Facility

EPV SOLAR, Inc. has announced that it will expand its manufacturing operations with a new facility being built in Senftenberg, Germany. It will be owned by EPV SOLAR Germany GmbH, a wholly owned EPV SOLAR subsidiary, and will have an initial capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) per year.

This new capacity will enable EPV SOLAR to deploy its thin-film photovoltaics for power installations in Germany and the EU and to help meet global demand for the company’s products. The Senftenberg manufacturing facility will feature EPV SOLAR’s amorphous silicon technology and proprietary manufacturing process. Construction has begun, and manufacturing operations are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2008.

“The demand from Germany and the EU for our cost-effective solar technology has evolved into a need for EPV SOLAR to locate a manufacturing facility in one of the world’s most important growth areas for solar power,” said Scott Massie, CEO of EPV SOLAR.
