EPURON Opens 1.5 MW Solar PV Plant in Spain

EPURON GmbH has implemented a large-scale photovoltaic (PV) system in Caravaca de la Cruz with a peak output of 1.5 megawatts (MW). SunTechnics will coordinate construction and planning. Both EPURON and SunTechnics are affiliated with Conergy AG.

The site for the La Junquera PV plant is situated in the center of the Murcia region, where solar irradiation levels are among the highest in Spain. Three hundred sun-tracking systems equipped with 9,000 Conergy modules C175M were built on an area the size of 15 football fields (10 hectares). The annual energy output of the plant is approximately 3.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh). “We have developed remarkably well in the Spanish market in recent months,” said Thomas-Tim Saevecke, managing director of EPURON and responsible for solar activities, in reference to several other projects in Spain EPURON is planning and developing. “With a combination of international financing expertise and cooperation with local partners, we have established ourselves among the leading companies that finance and implement large-scale photovoltaic power plants in Spain.” “Spain, like Germany, has recognized the importance of renewable energy and is promoting it on a large scale. We will continue to give our full commitment to the generation of clean energy and the reduction of CO2 emissions,” he added. With new offices in Madrid, EPURON will continue to develop photovoltaic power plants and expand its project pipeline directly from its Madrid and Almeria subsidiaries.
