Langfang, China — ENN Solar Energy Co. Ltd. has won the bid to supply 5.7 m² tandem junction silicon thin film modules for a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plant.
This project is sponsored by the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), which plans to build a 5-megawatt (MW) PV power plant in Inner Mongolia, China. Once completed, it will be the largest thin film PV project in China, and one of the largest in the world using silicon tandem junction technology.
ENN Solar Energy recently achieved 9.2% stabilized aperture efficiency in its Applied SunFab thin film production line. At this efficiency, each ultra-large 5.7 m² thin film module produces more than 500 watts of electricity.
“ENN has demonstrated invaluable leadership in the drive to optimize the SunFab production line,” said Kirk Hasserjian, vice president and general manager of Applied Materials’ SunFab division, manufacturers of the SunFab Thin Film Line. “Pairing the 5.7 m² SunFab modules with the integrated power station solutions enables a significant advantage for their customers who install large-scale projects and require solutions.”
