Villarobledo, Spain [RenewableEnergyWorld.com Enfinity Management has completed and opened four ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Spain. The projects are the first ground-mounted systems the company has installed and have a total installed capacity of 6.5 megawatts (MW).
All four plants were completed between April and September of this year. Enfinity worked with Martifier Solar on the construction of the projects. Combined, the systems are expected to produce more than 9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Martifer Solar was in charge of the engineering and installation of the plants.
Enfinity was also able to officially register the four plants before September 28, 2008, a deadline set by the Spanish government. Doing this qualified all of the systems for the €0.44/kilowatt-hour [US $0.56/kilowatt-hour] feed-in tariff subsidy rate that has since been reduced by the Spanish goverment.
