Endesa and Food Company to Develop PV Solar Energy

Madrid, Spain [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Endesa has signed an agreement with food company Frit Ravich for Euro 2 million [US$2.7 million] covering the supply and installation of solar panels at the Macanet de la Selva facility in Girona which will generate an estimated 136,533.6 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity each year. Phase one entails covering the roof with solar panels. Subsequently, photovoltaic panels will be added to an additional available surface area of 2,500 square meters (e.g., the car park). Frit Ravich, a supportor of renewable energy technologies, is in the process of building a compost facility using organic waste for subsequent use as organic fertilizer for general agricultural use, particularly organic farming.
