Edward Norton Backs BP Solar Energy Program

Celebrities are soaking up the sun with BP Solar panels – making pollution free electricity for their homes and at the same time helping low income families in California – all as part of the new BP Solar Neighbors Program.

Linthicum, Maryland – January 23, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Every time a celebrity joins the BP Solar Neighbors Program by purchasing a BP Solar Home Solution, BP donates a solar system to a low income family in California. (Since solar systems are modular and so can come in almost any size, every 6 kW qualifies for a matching system). Lead by Edward Norton, who proposed the concept to BP Solar while purchasing his own system, celebrities Danny DeVito & Rhea Pearlman, Larry Hagman, Don Cheadle, Daryl Hannah and Alicia Silverstone all bought BP Solar systems for their homes as part of BP Solar Neighbors in 2003. Thanks to those commitments to solar energy, low income families have and will be receiving matching systems. BP Solar expects this program to pick up in 2004 as word spreads. Norton is expected to talk about the BP Solar Neighbors Program on the Larry King Live TV program on CNN this Saturday, January 24th. Larry King Live is shown in the United States on CNN, Eastern time at: 9pm, midnight, and 3am and Pacific time at: 6pm, 9pm, and midnight. The BP Solar Neighbors Program is driven by a partnership between celebrities, BP Solar, the Enterprise Foundation and the Environmental Media Association, all with the goal of promoting the benefits of solar power and helping low-income families permanently reduce their energy bills while being environmentally responsible.
