Horb, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] DEGERenergie has announced that it will deliver 2,660 of its TOPtraker 8.5 trackers to Sicily by the end of the year. They will be used in the Province of Agrigent, where a 3-megawatt solar park is currently being developed.
The order has been placed to DEGERenergie by Martifer Solar Italy, a subsidiary of the Portuguese Martifer Group. The plant will belong to the private company Amplio Solar, part of a large international group based in London, which is active in the renewable energy space.
The new solar park will be brought online at the beginning of next year. The plant will use single-axis solar tracker technology and will be the largest solar plant with trackers in Sicily and one of the largest in Italy. It will occupy an area of 13 hectares of agricultural fields. The first TOPtrakers have already been delivered by DEGERenergie.
