Community Radio Powered by the Sun

[] Boulder-Denver’s Community Radio station KGNU (88.5 FM Boulder and 1390 AM Denver) has teamed up with Namaste Solar Electric to install a solar electric system on the radio station’s HQ in Boulder to generate clean electricity. A dozen solar panels create a solar awning, which doubles to allow maximum solar gain during winter and maximum shading during summer. It will provide 7-10 percent of the station’s total power consumption, and is expected to be installed by the end of October.
