CNPV Opens 3.1 MW of Solar PV in Czech Republic

CNPV Solar Power SA announced the completion and inauguration of a 2-megawatt (MW) and a 1.1-MW ground mounted solar photovoltaic ground mounted in the Czech Republic that were developed by Stand-By Europe at the end of December, 2009.

The ground mounted solar systems were built for individual investors in the Czech Republic. The 2-MW system was built in Kosorin and the 1.1-MW system was built in Malsice Cenkov. The two projects were financed by Unicredit Leasing and Volksbank respectively.

Solar modules were supplied by CNPV under a previously announced sales agreement between the company and strategic partner Stand-By Europe which installed the systems.

The solar systems began full operation in December 2009 and represent an investment of €11 million. The two systems will produce close to 2,759 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity per year.
