Nanjing, China [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] China Sunergy has entered into a ten year sales deal with asola Advanced and Automotive Solar Systems GmbH. The non-binding framework agreement calls for China Sunergy to deliver up to 480 megawatts (MW) of solar cells to asola starting this year and continuing through 2018.
Two weeks ago, China Sunergy announced that it had entered into an initial agreement with asola to supply a total volume of 10-30 MW of solar cells to the company from February to December of 2009. This new long-term deal is the culmination of that agreement as well as a follow-on.
The first shipment of 30 MW of silicon cells will take place 2009 and 50 MW will be supplied each year after that over the course of the 10-year agreement. Specific terms and conditions of the supply have yet to be created. They will be set in sales agreements that will be negotiated between China Sunergy and asola before each shipment.
“China Sunergy has been a valuable partner in the past, and we believe that over the next decade the high quality solar cell products from China Sunergy will continue to be of strategic benefit as we further develop our advanced solar modules,” said Reinhard Wecker, CEO of asola.
