Graphite Solar has a long-term power purchase agreement with Pacificorp on behalf of social media giant Meta. The project will supply energy to Meta's data center in nearby Eagle Mountain.
The contract was developed under Rocky Mountain Power’s Schedule 34 green energy tariff, which is intended to help sizable energy consumers source renewables to meet their clean energy targets.
The energy transition is on display in Carbon County. For the first time in 2021, no coal was extracted there and the Graphite Solar project employed around 150 people from the local workforce.
Graphite Solar features 275,700 solar modules and required 1.5 miles of new transmission infrastructure to be built.
