BP Expands Solar Sales with Home Depot

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] BP Solar began offering their line of Solar Home Solutions in 40 San Diego-based Home Depot stores last year. That localized plan only lasted so long, however, as the company wants to bring all of California on-line with its home power system offerings. BP and Home Depot expanded the program once already in December 2004 when the Solar Home Solutions system was introduced in 42 stores in the Los Angeles area. The latest expansion includes an additional 76 stores between Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo, with the greatest concentration in the San Francisco Bay region. Solar Home Solutions enables customers to obtain complete installed solar home power systems that can reduce electrical bills and increase home values without adverse impacts to the environment. The program entails point of sale marketing materials and a customer call center with responses from select local dealers or installers. While the program originated in California, BP Solar intends to continue its expansion in 2005 to additional US markets in New Jersey and New York.
