Bond Sought for 425 kW Massachusetts Solar Project

[The Enterprise] City officials Monday night learned that a proposed solar “green” energy project could put the city [Brockton] in the red. But it is a risk the Finance Committee is willing to take, approving the borrowing of $1.6 million in bonds to help finance what is being called the largest solar brightfield in New England. The project will be built on Grove Street and will cost about $3 million. It has been scaled back from a proposed 500 kilowatts to 425 kilowatts, said Lori Colombo, the city’s consultant on the renewable energy project.
