Applied Materials Introduces SunFab Solar Modules

[Associated Press] Applied Materials introduced its SunFab solar modules Monday at the 22nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference in Milan, Italy… Applied Materials said SunFab panels are four times larger than the largest thin film panels on the market today. The company said it already has SunFab contracts with customers in Europe and Asia. Shares rose 21 cents to $21.57 in morning trading. Friedman Billings Ramsey analyst Mehdi Hosseini said Applied Materials should start reporting revenue from SunFab contracts in its fiscal second quarter, which ends in April. He noted that there are fewer companies making thin film modules than polysilicon.
