Amtech Receives US $5M in Solar Orders

Amtech Systems Inc. announced that its solar energy subsidiary, Tempress Systems Inc., has received approximately US $5 million in orders for its diffusion processing systems for solar system manufacturing from two new customers.

One of the customers is in Asia and the other in Europe. The Asian order is for multiple systems and the European order is for a solar research and development institute. Amtech did not release further details about the customers.

“Despite these difficult economic times, we continue to see acceptance and demand for our solar products, as demonstrated by these two orders, and are pleased to further expand our global solar customer base. We continue to be optimistic about the long-term growth opportunities in the solar market,” said J.S. Whang, president and CEO of Amtech.
