July 7, 2011 — AMETEK Fluoropolymer Products introduced Wet Bench heat exchangers of ultrahigh-purity (UHP) PFA tubing for wet processing equipment used to make solar photovoltaic cells and semiconductors.

AMETEK heat exchangers are immersed in acid baths to control fluid temperatures. Wet etch, cleaning, and other chemical processes that heat or cool highly corrosive high-purity acids can benefit from the durable, compact Wet Bench heat exchangers. The components? high purity prevents contamination or system fouling, even with highly corrosive liquids. They are inert to nearly all chemicals used in semiconductor and photovoltaic wet processing, less brittle than glass and graphite, and more corrosion resistant than most metals.  

The heat exchangers feature braided tubing bundles and fused honeycomb ends that reportedly improve heat transfer in a smaller footprint without leaks.

Standard and custom connections enable integration with existing equipment.
