After Public Pressure, Bay Area Solar Permit Fees Lowered

[Mercury News] Gasoline prices may be going up. But costs for another form of energy — solar power — are falling across the Bay Area as a result of public pressure. Six months after the Sierra Club published a report listing how much cities in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties charge for permits to install solar panels on homes, 12 of the 40 cities have lowered those fees.
