SPS Payment Systems Inc. changed its name to Associates Commerce Solutions in late September. The name change follows SPS` acquisition by Associates First Capital Corp. (www.theassociates.com) in October 1998. Based in Riverwoods, Ill., SPS provides call center teleservices, retail private label credit card services and commercial accounts processing services with its approximately 4,200 employees.
