Solid State, Single-Phase, Two-Piece Meter
A totally new family of solid state, single phase modular, residential meters designed to help utilities increase operating efficiencies, reduce costs and improve customer service has been introduced by Landis & Gyr Utilities Services. Called Altimus, the new meter features a revolutionary, two piece, universal platform that provides true field-upgradeability without interruption of service or exposure to potentially dangerous electrical connections. The meter is designed to allow the meter base to remain in service while the metering unit, integral with the meter cover, can be removed and/or replaced with significantly improved speed, ease and safety over conventional electromechanical meters.
