Valued at $216 million, the contract covers supply of two SGT-800 gas turbines, one SST-400 steam turbine, three 11kV generators and two heat recovery steam generators.
The contract also includes a long-term 12 years maintenance agreement for the plant’s main components, including gas turbines.
Siemens Poland Power Generation will provide its SGT-800 gas turbine technology for the project.
Scheduled to replace the existing old coal-fired power plant at the same location, the Gorzàƒ³w plant will have 138 MW electric capacity, 90 MW thermal capacity and a fuel efficiency rating of 84 percent.
Fired with nitrogen-rich natural gas from gas reserves located in western Poland, the combined cycle power plant is expected to produce 95 percent less sulfur dioxide emissions, 30 percent less nitrogen dioxide emissions and 95 percent less particulate emissions than the existing power plant.
The commissioning of the Gorzàƒ³w plant is planned for early 2016.
