National Grid Gas Transmission has awarded Scotland-headquartered RWG a contract for major maintenance of its Siemens aero-derivative gas generator fleet at compressor stations across the UK.
The contract includes the major overhaul of two particular makes of gas generators, including field services, annual inspection and equipment installation and recommissioning support.
“This contract is unique, providing high quality overhaul services at RWG’s dedicated Aberdeen workshop, as well as additional services and product support over the course of the contract,” Kenny McKenzie of RWG.
Russell Grant, RWG business manager, added: “The structure of this contract facilitates close cooperation between RWG’s customer-facing team and National Grid staff to define the scope of work for each maintenance, ensuring this is tailored to the customer’s specific requirements. A benefit of this methodology is implementation of OEM-approved modification and upgrade programmes, mitigating obsolescence and increasing the longevity of National Grid’s fleet.”
