North North Ft. Myers, FL – January 28, 2002 – Just months after launching LCEC PowerPay online bill presentment and payment service, more than one percent of LCEC customers are already paying their electric bill online.
“We believe this is an outstanding achievement for only launching the service just recently,” LCEC Customer Information Services Manager Bernard Davis said.
“We are hoping to enroll between two and three percent of our customers in the first year. We’re well on our way.”
LCEC PowerPay allows LCEC customers to securely view and pay their bills directly on LCEC’s web site (https://www.lcec.net) or through one of approximately 300 CheckFree-powered consumer service provider sites in the United States such as banks, brokerages, credit unions, Internet portals and personal financial management software.
LCEC PowerPay frees customers from the hassle of writing checks and saves on postage. In addition, customers who pay online have access to an archive of their statements and a display of their electrical usage history in graphical form LCEC PowerPay has benefits for LCEC, as well as customers.
It saves money on paper, postage and envelopes, and it positions LCEC on the cutting edge of technology. LCEC provides electricity for more than 150,000 customers in five counties.
