SecureWorks and NRECA to offer discounted information security services to all NRECA members

Atlanta, GA, and Arlington, VA, Feb. 8, 2007 — The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and SecureWorks have partnered to offer SecureWorks’ information security services to NRECA’s members at a discounted rate.

The agreement will give NRECA members access to all of SecureWorks’ managed security services at a 10 percent discount. SecureWorks is one of 60 organizations in NRECA’s National Discount Program designed to provide pre-negotiated discounts with leading service providers.

SecureWorks has been an active member of NRECA since 2002 and currently provides services to over 80 NRECA members’ networks.

“In today’s environment, having top-of-the-line information security as part of your overall infrastructure is key to running a successful utility,” said Tim Peede, IT manager for South River EMC and current client of SecureWorks.

In addition to protecting the perimeter of the network with Network Intrusion Prevention Services, SecureWorks can monitor virtually any device and will consolidate security event logs to protect clients from internal as well as external threats. As part of the managed security services offerings, SecureWorks also provides board and examination reports — including reporting against the new CIP standards. These reports are designed to make it easy for any utility to demonstrate how their processes and procedures adhere to industry best practices without spending weeks gathering evidence.

NRECA members can receive a 10 percent discount on all of SecureWorks’ managed security services including management and monitoring of firewalls, network and host intrusion prevention, vulnerability scanning, encrypted email and threat intelligence.
