Regenerative AC Load Bank Reduces Energy Costs by 90 Percent

Intepro Systems, a provider of power component and power system automated test equipment, announces the PEL Series Regenerative AC Electronic Load Bank. Built around a 60 kVA chassis, the system can be paralleled for higher power requirements. It also accepts standard AC input ranges from 120V to 480V and provides grid-synchronized, regenerated AC power output that returns 90 percent of the equipment under test load power back to the utility. The PEL Series provides an energy-saving solution when testing any type of power used in a range of industries. The PEL Series features three modes of load settings: constant current, constant resistance and constant power. It also provides adjustable power factor from 0.3 to 1.0 to simulate a range of load conditions as well as independent phase control and a built-in measurement system. The PEL Series also offers load sequence transient generation for creating complex, variable and repeatable load conditions.

Software Automates Network Traffic Visibility

Gigamon Inc., a provider of traffic visibility solutions with its Unified Visibility Fabric, introduces Software Defined Visibility-a framework that allows customers, security partners, managed service providers and others to automate detection, reaction and response to threats and programmatically adapt security policies to network changes. Software Defined Visibility enables security tools, such as IPSs, WAFs, Secure Web Gateways, Sandboxes and other in-line or out-of-band security appliances to program the Gigamon Visibility Fabric to automatically update traffic Flow Maps and GigaSMART operations based on real-time conditions. By enabling the programmability of Visibility Fabric, customers can adjust and enhance their visibility posture, which improves security, while reducing costs and network complexities. Software Defined Visibility is a framework that allows customers, security and network equipment vendors, as well as managed service providers, to control and program Gigamon’s Visibility Fabric through REST-based application program interfaces (APIs). By writing programs that use Gigamon’s APIs, functions previously requiring manual intervention can be automated to improve responsiveness, enhance analysis and increase protection of key resources and information assets.

Arc Flash PPE Quick Reference Guide

Every three years, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) releases a new edition of NFPA 70E, the standard that helps reduce workers’ exposure to major electrical hazards. Graphic Products has summarized elements of the 2015 standard to create an Arc Flash PPE Quick Reference Guide. The 2015 standard uses a new Arc Flash PPE Category system to replace the Hazard/Risk Category (HRC) previously used. The Arc Flash PPE Quick Reference Guide is an easy-to-use graphic which outlines the four PPE categories used to classify arc flash hazard ranges. The graphic details arc-rated clothing and personal equipment based upon the standard’s recommendations for equipment and practices. The guide can be used as a safety training resource to help companies and employees avoid workplace injuries and fatalities, and comply with applicable OSHA standards. Facilities can request the complimentary quick reference guide or receive it as part of Graphic Products’ comprehensive Arc Flash Labeling Best Practice Guide, which further outlines NFPA 70E labeling requirements, electrical safety programs and more.
