Elster announces availability of EnergyAxis System gas module

Raleigh, NC, April 24, 2007 — Elster Integrated Solutions (EIS), part of Elster Group, announced the availability of a gas meter module for the EnergyAxis System fixed mesh network.

Developed to allow utilities to add automated gas meter reading to the EnergyAxis System, the AMI system with two-way mesh network communications, the EnergyAxis gas module is designed to enable utilities to realize the benefits of improved revenue cycle services, customer service, delivery reliability, and workforce utilization.

The latest addition to EIS’ comprehensive AMR/AMI systems portfolio offers gas utilities and energy management companies a choice of solutions to manage their operations — the EnergyAxis System two-way mesh network or the two-way drive-by TRACE System. The EnergyAxis System now supports all three major utilities: electricity, gas and water.

The EnergyAxis gas module can be installed on Elster American Meter gas meters and all major gas meter brands. The gas module is battery powered, operates without requiring an FCC license and has a battery life of more than 20 years.
