Vestas Turbines Heading to Portugal

Vestas has received an order for 34 units of its V-90 3-megawatt (MW) wind turbine for the Toutico project, located in the district of Coimbra in the central part of Portugal.

The order, placed by Enersis SGPS, S.A., which is owned by Babcock & Brown, calls for Vestas to supply, install and commission the wind turbines. The deal also includes a SCADA system, as well as a five-year service agreement.

The wind power plant is estimated to produce 264 gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year. Delivery of the wind power plant is expected to start during the autumn of 2008 and will be completed during the autumn of 2009.
