Vestas to Supply Wind Turbine in Italy and Spain

Vestas Eolica has received an order for 14 units of the V90-3.0 MW wind turbine for the project Cortijo de Guerra in Andalusia, Spain. The order comprises supply, installation, commissioning, VestasOnline Business SCADA system as well as a service contract for two years.

The project, which was developed by the German developer WKN Windkraft Nord AG (WKN), will be installed near the town of Puerto Real located in the region of Cadiz in Andalusia. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2007, and the project will be completed during the first half of 2008. When completed, the project will have an estimated annual production of 98,000 MWh. The order was placed by the developer Parque Eolico Puerto Real S.L.U., which is owned by EuroTrust A/S Danish independent renewable-power producer. In a second announcement, Vestas Italia (Taranto, Italy) has received a large order for 27 units of the V90-2.0 MW wind turbine for the project Grottole, in Southern Italy. The turnkey contract includes delivery, installation, commissioning, VestasOnline Business SCADA system as well as a service contract for five years. The order has been placed by FRI-EL Grottole S.r.l. Delivery is scheduled to begin in November 2007, and the project will be completed during the first half of 2008. The wind power plant has an estimated annual production of 116,000 MWh. Vestas’ Italian production facilities, also located in Taranto, have a production potential of more than 500 turbines per year.
