Vestas to Supply 12 of the V90-2.0 MW Wind Turbines for Italy

Vestas Italia has received an order for 12 units of the V90-2.0-megawatt (MW) wind turbine for the Faeto project (Apulia, Southern Italy). The contract includes delivery, installation, commissioning and the VestasOnline Business SCADA system, as well as a service and availability agreement for five years.

This is Vestas’ second contract from Eos4 Faeto S.r.l., an Enertad Group company, an Italian holding company operating within the renewable energy business. Estimated power production is 50,000 MWh per year for the new wind power installation. Delivery is scheduled to start in December 2007, and the project will be completed during the first quarter of 2008.

“We are very satisfied with this new order in the Apulia region, which confirms the positive trend of wind power development in that area. By the end of December 2006, Vestas had installed 267 MW out of the 468 MW installed in total in the Apulia region,” said Rainer Karan, General Manager of Vestas Italia. Vestas’ production facilities for the turbine model V52-850 kW are also located In Taranto.

Vestas Italia has received ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
