Vestas Secures Turbine Contract for North East U.S.

[] They won’t tell you who it’s for yet, but Denmark’s wind turbine manufacturer Vestas secured a larger wind turbine order for a project located in the North East region of the U.S. The contract order of 124 MW total capacity is comprised of 75 units of the V82-1.65 MW turbines. Per the customer’s request, details about project ownership, location, etc. cannot be disclosed at this time. The order includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a five year service and maintenance contract. Shipment of wind turbines will begin in spring 2006. Commissioning of the wind power plant is scheduled for completion in two parts – 33 MWs in June 2006 and the balance of 91 MWs by the end of November 2006.
